About Us

There is a strategic gap in Training Group delivery in the Liverpool Region which includes - Merseyside, Sefton, Wirral and St Helens areas.

The background is as follows:

a. The LRTG has been set up to provide local suppport and targeted funding to meet the needs of the construction sector within the Liverpool region.

b. The Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is a major economic area which is part of the Northern Powerhouse including the Liverpool City Area, Halton, Knowsley, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral. 

c. There are 900 registered construction companies based in the Liverpool area alone.

d. There is significant construction investment in the Liverpool Region – including Peel Holdings £1bn waterfront investment, Chinese structural investment for the University Hospitals and the Local Authorities working together to forward the Northern Powerhouse initiative.

e. The LRTG will look to co-ordinate and represent the training and funding needs of the members to the CITB and local government support bodies.

We are looking for CITB 'in-scope' companies working in the region to apply for membership of the LRTG to maximise their training and business development funding needs.
